There are mornings when coffee is fuel. And there are mornings when coffee is the whole point: the ritual that sets the shape of the day before everything else begins. This set is for the second kind.

The two CHIPS Stackable mugs in Splash White Orange and Splash Navy White are made in Mino-yaki (美濃焼) by CHIPS Inc. in Gifu. The Splash glaze is applied in a deliberate but spontaneous gesture that gives each mug an expressive, painterly quality: each one is slightly different, which is the point of the glaze. The 39Arita Cera Filter 003 is made in Arita-yaki (有田焼) porcelain, Japan's oldest ceramic tradition, fired until the body is laced with micro-pores that filter coffee without paper. The 003 has a round base and comes with a ceramic holder that keeps it stable over any cup or server. Rinse after use; no disposables needed.
