Small in size. Large in presence.
The NATURE rice bowl (11cm diameter, 6cm deep) is sized generously for Japanese rice which is to say it is a slightly smaller, more intimate bowl than the Western soup bowl or cereal bowl. It earns its place as an everyday bowl for porridge, soup, yoghurt with granola, or a small rice dish and in real life, it looks significantly better than anything mass produced in a ceramic factory.
The some-nishiki leaf pattern blue painted under the glaze, red painted over wraps the bowl's exterior. Held in the hand whilst eating (as a rice bowl is meant to be held), the two-layer pattern catches the light differently as the bowl moves.
For a kitchen that takes pleasure in its everyday objects, this is the kind of bowl that quietly transforms morning.
Made in Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture. Not dishwasher safe.
