Arita Ware Porcelain Chopstick Rest, Ketchup

At a glance

• Half-squeezed ketchup bottle shape turns an everyday condiment into a miniature table object
• The indented body naturally holds chopsticks in place instead of letting them roll
• Choose one favourite or mix the four condiment designs around the table

A ketchup bottle that looks as though someone has already squeezed the middle.

That slightly crumpled shape is what makes this chopstick rest more than a novelty. The hollow created by the “used” bottle form gives chopsticks a natural place to settle, while the bright red porcelain brings an unexpected little detail to the table.

Made in Arita by Kitagawa Bisen Kiln, the miniature shape is finished by hand, so small differences in glaze and colour are part of each piece.

Use it on its own for a playful accent, or mix it with Mayonnaise, Tartar Sauce and Sauce so everyone at the table can choose their own.
