This is the fragrance Kungyokudo chose to represent its own home.
Sakaimachi 101 takes its name from the address of Kungyokudo’s historic Kyoto shop. The blend draws on fragrant woods and aromatics, with a composed character that feels restrained rather than sweet or heavily perfumed.
That makes it one of the quieter fragrances in the collection. The woody character gives a room presence without dominating it, particularly suited to those who prefer incense that feels grounded and understated rather than distinctly floral.
The fragrance is based on a recipe passed down through generations at Kungyokudo, which has been making incense in Kyoto since 1594. Rather than recreating one particular flower, place or season, Sakaimachi 101 reflects the incense house itself.
Each box contains 60 sticks, with an approximate burn time of 25 minutes per stick. No incense holder is included.
