Postcard, Lucky Cat (PPF-270)

At a glance

• A red-and-white beckoning cat brings a traditional Japanese lucky symbol into a graphic illustration
• Bold outlines and slightly imperfect retro printing give the design its distinctive finish

One raised paw, a small bell and a watchful expression make this cat instantly recognisable.

The maneki-neko, or beckoning cat, is a familiar Japanese symbol believed to invite good fortune. Here, the traditional figure is simplified into bold red-and-white shapes, with expressive eyes and a playful character.

The original eraser-block artwork is reproduced through retro printing, allowing small shifts in colour and texture to remain part of the design.
