Nippon Kodo describes it very simply as fresh and sour, which is useful because it immediately separates it from sweeter fruit fragrance.

Compared with White Peach, Pomegranate has more sharpness and less rounded sweetness. Compared with Osmanthus, it is more clearly fruit-led and less floral. That makes it one of the easier Kayuragi scents to recommend to someone who likes fruity fragrance but does not want something sugary.
