Gold leaf sits within coloured glass, so this small rest changes character as the light moves across it.

The Kinsai design combines coloured glass with gold leaf in a fan-like composition. Because the metallic detail sits within the glass rather than simply on top of it, its brightness changes with the viewing angle.

Each rest is handmade in the Tsugaru Vidro tradition. Subtle differences in colour distribution, shape and gold placement are natural results of the making process, so individual pieces will not look mechanically identical.

At approximately 3.5cm wide and 1.3cm high, it takes up little room beside a plate or bowl while keeping the eating ends of the chopsticks raised from the tabletop.

Available in Red, Green and Blue. A single colour works as a small table accent, while several can be mixed between place settings.
