Avoid Temperature Shocks: This glass is delicate and sensitive to rapid temperature changes. Please do not heat it or cool it down suddenly.

Gentle Cleaning: Hand-wash your glass using only a soft sponge or cloth with mild detergent.

Avoid Abrasives: Do not use wire wool or abrasive scrubbers, as these will scratch the surface and make the glass significantly more fragile.

Handmade Nature: As each piece is mouth-blown, please note that minor variations in size and pattern are natural characteristics of the craft.

At a Glance

• Mount Fuji rises from the base and changes appearance with the colour of every drink
• Tall 400ml form brings the Fuji effect to beer, highballs, iced tea, water and other long drinks
• Handmade Edo Glass in a wooden box, with the Mount Fuji design recognised at Japan’s 2015 Omiyage Grand Prix

The surprise is waiting at the bottom of the glass.

A three-dimensional Mount Fuji is formed into the base, catching the colour of whatever is poured above it. Beer or a whisky highball can give the mountain a warm golden tone, while other drinks create their own version of the landscape.

Because the effect depends on what is inside the tumbler, it changes from one use to the next. Even with clear drinks, Fuji remains visible beneath the liquid; coloured drinks make the mountain more pronounced and change how it appears through the glass.

The taller 400ml form gives it plenty of room for beer, highballs, iced tea, water and other long drinks, making the Fuji effect easy to bring into everyday use rather than saving it for a particular type of drink.

Each tumbler is handmade in Tokyo using Edo Glass techniques. Small bubbles and slight variations in shape are natural characteristics of the process, so each piece carries subtle differences of its own.

The Mount Fuji Glass design received the Grand Prix and Japan Tourism Agency Commissioner’s Award at the 2015 Omiyage Grand Prix. Presented in a wooden box, the tumbler works particularly well as a gift that is recognisably Japanese while remaining something practical enough to use regularly.

As each glass is handmade, small bubbles and slight differences in size and form may occur.
