Fuji whisky glass

This Fuji glass is made by Tajima Glass 田島硝子 in Tokyo, a leading Edo Glass 江戸硝子 workshop founded in 1956. At the bottom of the rocks glass, artisans sculpt a three‑dimensional Mt. Fuji 富士山, so the “mountain” changes colour with whatever drink you pour. When viewed from the side, light refracts through the clear glass and highlights the snow‑capped peak, turning whisky, plum wine or even water into a small landscape. Each piece is mouth‑blown and hand‑finished, with minute variations that show it is made one by one. The glass has been honoured with the Japan Tourism Agency Commissioner’s Award, recognising it as a distinctive local craft design from Tokyo.
