Care instructions

Wash gently with a soft sponge and mild detergent before first use.

Although safe with dishwasher, hand washing is recommended to preserve the glaze and brushed decoration.

Avoid abrasive cleansers, hard scrubbers and sudden temperature changes.

Not recommended for oven or direct flame use.

As with all handcrafted ceramics, slight variations in glaze, linework and finish are part of its character.

Special

At a glance

• Small hand-painted florals bring fine detail to a generously sized everyday noodle bowl
• Wide and deep form works for noodles, ramen, donburi rice, soup, curry and other one-bowl meals
• Subtle variation in the hand-painted motif gives each piece a slightly different character

This version takes the same practical deep bowl form in a much quieter decorative direction.

Small floral motifs are painted across the white porcelain, giving the surface detail without overwhelming whatever is served inside. Look more closely and small differences in brushwork and placement reveal the hand-painted character of each bowl.

The 15cm wide, 8.5cm high kine-gata shape is tall enough for ramen or udon, but equally useful for donburi rice, curry, soup or a generous grain bowl. The slightly narrower lower body also gives the bowl a more defined silhouette than a simple straight-sided form.

Compared with the stronger movement of the Uzushio design, Small Floral has a softer visual presence, making it easy to use frequently while still giving an everyday meal something distinctive to look at.
