This Fuji tin tumbler Mt. Fuji 富士山 by Osaka Naniwa Suzuki 大阪浪華錫器 is part of Japan’s long tinware tradition, officially designated a Traditional Craft 伝統工芸品 by METI. Made in suzuki 錫器, a metal treasured in Japan for its gentle shine and the way it softens and rounds out drinks, the tumbler brings together everyday function and the quiet ceremony of a traditional craft.

The shape is formed through skilled metalworking and the surface is finished by hand; the fine marks visible on the inside and outside are the result of tsuiki 鎚目 hand hammering, which gives each piece subtle movement and a tactile, artisanal character rather than a perfectly uniform machine finish. Osaka Suzuki’s work is represented by Tatsumasa Imai 今井達昌, a recognised Master of Traditional Crafts, and the workshop continues this lineage through a team of certified craftspeople dedicated to preserving and refining the tradition.
The Fuji motif adds an unmistakably Japanese symbol of calm strength and good fortune, making the tumbler as meaningful for gifting as it is satisfying for daily use.
