Violet has the most powdery character in Hana no Hana.

The fragrance begins with violet, develops through a fuller floral middle, then settles into sandalwood and musk. Nippon Kodo describes it as moist, powdery and calm, giving the scent a classic elegance rather than the brightness of Lily or the richness of Rose.

That difference matters within the collection. Violet is the softer, more composed floral, with enough sweetness to feel rounded but more wood and powder than a straightforward flower perfume.

Hana no Hana dates to 1911, when Yujiro Kito combined Japanese incense making with Western perfume culture. The collection was created not just to reproduce flowers, but to give floral fragrance more structure, depth and persistence.

Its nokoriga, the fragrance that remains in the room after the stick has finished, is part of the design of the series rather than an accidental after effect.

The box contains 40 sticks, each burning for approximately 20 minutes.
