Rose is the fullest fragrance in Hana no Hana.

Nippon Kodo builds the scent around rose and vanilla, with a touch of spice at the top and sandalwood and musk beneath. The result is sweeter and more expansive than Lily or Violet, with enough woody depth to keep the floral character from feeling flat.

This richer structure reflects the original idea behind Hana no Hana. Created in 1911, the collection brought Western floral perfumery together with Japanese incense making at a time when that combination was still new.

Nippon Kodo also formulates the collection to leave nokoriga, the faint fragrance that remains in a room after burning. With Rose, that lingering quality suits the scent particularly well because the sandalwood, musk and vanilla continue to soften after the brighter floral notes recede.

The box contains 40 sticks, each burning for approximately 20 minutes.
