Saga Morning Mist smells greener than its sandalwood base might suggest.

Kousaido combines sandalwood with oakmoss and lily of the valley, giving it a clean, grassy freshness rather than a warm woody weight. The maker describes the overall character as simple and clean, closer to fresh grassland than a sweet perfume.

The scent belongs to SANSHISUIMEI, a collection built around landscapes of Kyoto. “Saga Morning Mist” takes its image from early mist settling over the bamboo groves of Saga, near Arashiyama. The green colour of the incense mirrors that idea.

Within the five scents, this is one of the easiest choices if you prefer Fresh fragrances. Kamo is more watery and floral; Saga is greener, drier and more plant-like.
