Apple incense does not have to smell like apple pie.

Kousaido describes this fragrance simply as sweet tart apple. It is the freshness of the fruit that gives it its character, rather than cinnamon, pastry or the warm spice often associated with apple home fragrance in the UK.

That makes Apple one of the more immediately accessible scents in Hyakurakukou. It is fruity and gently sweet, but the tart side keeps the fragrance lively rather than heavy.

Like the rest of the collection, it combines selected natural sandalwood with aromatic ingredients in a longer incense format. The sandalwood gives the fruit fragrance an incense foundation without changing its main identity: this is still very clearly apple.

Each box contains 40 sticks and an aluminium incense holder. Burn time is approximately 20 to 30 minutes per stick.
