At a glance
• White plum, musk and borneol create a floral scent with a cool, softly musky undertone
• Less bright and sweet than a typical spring blossom fragrance
• 15 sticks with a short 15 to 17 minute burn make it easy to explore the scent
White Plum takes a spring floral in a noticeably cooler direction.
White plum gives the fragrance its floral centre, while musk adds softness and body. Borneol brings a cooler, slightly camphor-like aromatic note, giving the scent more contrast than a straightforward blossom fragrance.
The overall impression is floral but restrained, with less sweetness than you might expect from the name. Compared with Magnolia in the same collection, White Plum feels cooler and more musky; Lotus moves further towards a fresh, aromatic floral character.
The packaging belongs to the Bijinga group within Kousaido's Japanese Painting Incense collection, featuring a female portrait rather than a literal illustration of the fragrance.
Each stick burns for around 15 to 17 minutes. The compact 15-stick format gives enough time to return to the scent several times without committing to a larger box.
