Lacquer Chopstick & Rest Set, Black Cat & Camellia

At a glance

• Black cat and red camellia pair good fortune with unpretentious elegance
• Wakasa nuri lacquer gives the natural wood chopsticks their finished character
• A personal cat-lover gift with matching rest and paulownia presentation box

A black cat reaches towards red camellias, turning an everyday pair of chopsticks into a small scene on the table.

The two motifs each carry meaning. The red camellia represents unpretentious elegance, while the black cat is associated with bringing good fortune. Together, they give the design more depth than a decorative cat motif alone.

The 23cm natural wood chopsticks are finished in Wakasa nuri lacquer. The lacquer gives the wood its completed surface while keeping the chopsticks suitable for regular meals rather than occasional display.

A matching cat and camellia rest keeps the eating ends raised from the tabletop when the chopsticks are put down, carrying the same motif into the place setting.

Presented in a paulownia wood box, the set makes a natural gift for someone fond of cats without relying on novelty alone. The motif feels personal, while the chopsticks remain useful enough to become part of everyday meals.
