Initial Preparation: Before first use, please wash gently with a soft sponge and mild detergent, then rinse with warm water.

Regular Care: After use, wash as soon as possible with a soft sponge and detergent, or hand-wash.

Stain Removal: If tea or coffee stains occur, they can be easily cleaned using a melamine sponge.

Avoid Temperature Shocks: This set is sensitive to extreme temperature changes; avoid placing hot items in ice-cold water (or vice versa), as this can cause cracking.

Usage Notes: Always use the microwave with food or liquid inside. When using a dishwasher, do not overpack, as items knocking together can cause damage.

Safety: If you notice any chips or cracks, discontinue use immediately.

Special

At a glance:

- Hasami-yaki (波佐見焼) white porcelain, Nagasaki Prefecture, over 400 years of craft history
- Teapot (approx. 250ml) and two teacups (100ml each), presented in a paulownia wood gift box
- Fine semi-spherical porcelain strainer; no metallic taste or odour

Some gifts arrive and immediately feel right. The paulownia wood box alone signals care. In Japan, kiri (桐) wood has been used for centuries to protect things worth keeping, from silk garments to tea ceremony tools. What is inside earns that presentation.

The teapot and cups are made in Hasami (波佐見焼), Nagasaki Prefecture, a region that has been producing porcelain for over 400 years. Unlike many ceramic towns that specialise in decoration, Hasami's tradition is built on functional excellence: forms that work well, glazes that stay clean, and a quiet refinement that suits daily use as much as special occasions. The kyusu teapot body, lid, strainer and spout are each formed separately before being assembled and fired together — a construction that takes time but produces a balanced, well-proportioned pot. The nearly spherical form allows tea leaves to circulate freely, whilst the fine porcelain strainer, entirely free of metallic odour, lets the tea's full flavour come through. The cups are shaped with a slightly narrowed lip that concentrates the aroma, and a curved profile that fits naturally in the hand.

At 250ml the teapot brews approximately two and a half cups — the right amount for a quiet afternoon, unhurried.
