Awase is a smart solution to two parts of using incense that are usually kept separate: where the sticks are stored and where they are burned.

Lift the lid and the cast-iron box reveals storage space alongside an integrated incense holder. When you want to burn a stick, reposition the lid so the holder remains exposed while the unused incense stays covered inside. Once finished, close the box again and everything returns to one compact object.

That integrated design keeps incense close at hand without leaving a separate packet and holder arranged on the shelf. Ash is also contained within the box, making the whole setup feel considered from storage through to burning and tidying away.

The Haochi lid gives this version its individual character. The surface technique comes from traditional cast-iron tea-ceremony kettles, with each lid worked individually to create an irregular raised texture rather than an identical repeated pattern.

Available in Small and Large, Awase combines practical storage with the weight and tactile presence of Yamagata cast iron, remaining visually resolved even when closed between uses.
