A bowl with personality.
Café Pottery's café bowl is a versatile, generously proportioned earthenware bowl (11cm diameter, 6.5cm deep) with a personality that no printed ceramic can match. The begonia motif is painted by hand in a loose, gestural style before glazing the slightly imperfect, folk-craft quality is intentional, not a compromise. The glaze pooling that appears as darker patches is a natural result of the pottery process and makes each bowl visually unique.
The form sits between a café au lait bowl, a rice bowl, and a cereal bowl. In a UK kitchen: porridge and granola in the morning, soup at lunch, a small pasta or rice dish for dinner. Broad and open enough to hold warmth in the hand.
Café Pottery's aesthetic is quieter than Kihara's porcelain ranges, earthier, more worn-in, more like something you might find on the shelf of a kitchen that has been used for decades.
Made in Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture. Microwave safe. Hand wash recommended.
