MUSUBI Arita Ware Porcelain Plate Pair, Musubi Knot, Red & Blue, 15cm

At a glance

• Two knot-shaped plates carry a wish for a relationship that continues for years
• Red and blue keep the pair visibly connected while giving each person their own plate
• Gift-boxed pair suits weddings and anniversaries but remains practical for everyday meals

The meaning of this pair is built into its shape.

Taseigama’s original Musubi knot represents a wish for a long-lasting relationship. Here it becomes two matching porcelain plates, one outlined in red and one in blue, giving each person a distinct piece while keeping the pair visibly connected.

The fine coloured lines are painted by hand. Small differences in the linework therefore remain part of each plate rather than the pair looking mechanically identical.

At 15cm, they are practical side plates rather than pieces that need to wait for an occasion. Use them for cake, bread, fruit, starters, cheese and crackers or smaller side dishes.

Presented together, the symbolism makes the pair particularly suited to a wedding or anniversary. Its longer-term value comes from turning that message into something the recipients can continue using together.
