Care instructions

Avoid using detergent as this may weaken the leak-prevention treatment. Wash with water only if needed.

The vase has been treated for leak prevention, but please use a tray, mat, or similar protection as a precaution.

Temperature differences between the room and the vase may cause condensation, so water droplets may appear on the surface.

Special

At a glance

• Handmade blue-green glaze develops natural shifts in tone and texture, making every vase slightly different
• Small opening keeps a single stem, compact arrangement or light branch naturally gathered
• Rounded 17cm form has enough sculptural presence to remain on display even without flowers

Seiran makes a small number of flowers feel intentional.

The compact opening keeps stems gathered above the broad rounded body, so a single branch, a few seasonal flowers or a loose cluster can create a balanced arrangement without needing to fill a large mouth.

Across the surface, the Seiran blue-green glaze moves between deeper colour, softer areas and earthy undertones. Each vase is made by hand, and changes in firing mean the exact colour, texture and form vary naturally from one piece to another. That individuality is central to Hechimon's approach to Shigaraki pottery.

The almost spherical Tama form gives the vase visual weight beyond its function. At around 17cm across, the rounded silhouette and shifting glaze still feel complete when the flowers have gone, so it can remain on a shelf, console or table as a ceramic object in its own right.

The interior is treated for use with flower water, making Shigaraki's naturally porous ceramic easier to live with while retaining its earthy character.

Made in Shigaraki by Hechimon, the handmade pottery collection of Marui Seito.
