NATURE Porcelain Plate, Stripe, 21cm / 28cm

At a glance

• Hand-painted red and blue lines sit at different depths, giving the simple stripe pattern unexpected dimension
• Choose 21cm for breakfast and lighter meals, or 28cm for mains, one-plate meals and sharing
• Stripes follow the rim, creating a graphic frame around the food rather than competing with it

A striped plate sounds simple until the colour is seen up close.

In the NATURE collection, the blue lines are hand-painted before glazing and the main firing, while the red is added afterwards as overglaze. Because the colours are applied at different stages, they do not sit on exactly the same plane. The result gives an otherwise straightforward stripe pattern noticeable depth and the small irregularities of hand painting.

The 21cm plate works comfortably for breakfast, bread, salads, sandwiches, cake or smaller meals. At 28cm, there is enough room for a full main, pasta, curry or a generous one-plate lunch, and it can double as a sharing plate when needed.

The linear design also mixes easily with the Leaves version and other NATURE pieces, creating a table that feels connected without looking overly matched.
