Two lines are enough to give this mug its character.

The Stripe design uses the same NATURE production method as the Leaves mug. Blue gosu is painted beneath the glaze and high-fired first. Red decoration is added afterwards over the glaze and fired again at around 900°C. KIHARA specifically notes that combining underglaze and overglaze decoration gives the pattern a sense of depth.

Where the Leaves design spreads freely around the body, Stripe keeps the decoration controlled and graphic. The result feels quieter and more minimal, but the hand painted lines still stop it from looking mechanically precise.

At 300ml, it is large enough for a proper mug of tea or coffee and also works well for hot chocolate or a small serving of soup. The Leaves and Stripe designs share the same shape and technique, so they can sit together without looking like an identical matched set.
