Matsuo no Koke takes its character from moss after rain. The fragrance is green and earthy, with the impression of damp moss and warm soil rather than perfume or blossom.

The inspiration comes from a Kyoto garden during the rainy season, when water darkens the moss and intensifies the scent of the earth beneath it. Here, the place and season directly explain the fragrance: damp, green and quietly atmospheric.
