Cherry blossom has a particular quality: it is both deeply Japanese and universally understood as a symbol of something brief and beautiful.
Kihara's kozakura small cherry blossom repeats hundreds of delicate five-petal flowers across the full face of a 24cm sharing plate in the classic indigo-on-white vocabulary of Hasami porcelain. The pattern carries the same technical quality as all KOMON pieces: printed via gosu underglaze with a deliberate slight relief and tonal variation that gives the design warmth and depth.
In a UK kitchen, this is the plate that comes out for things that deserve a proper setting: a Friday night mezze, a birthday cake, a Sunday spread of cheeses and charcuterie. The 24cm diameter and moderate depth make it genuinely versatile.
Made in Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture. Dishwasher and microwave safe.
