A tiny climber is still making their way up the volcano while incense smoke drifts from the crater above.

The design comes from Craft Keizan’s Climbing series, built around the idea of moving through life step by step. Here, the small figure clings to a rough, hand-worked mountain surface, turning the incense holder into a miniature scene rather than simply a place to catch ash.

For stick incense, place the included stand on the ceramic saucer and set the volcano over it. The mountain helps contain falling ash and gives the burning stick some shelter from light draughts, while the smoke emerges through the crater at the top.

The ceramic saucer can also be used with incense cones, adding another way to use the piece when you prefer a different incense format.

The volcanic texture is finished by hand, so the ridges, colour and small surface details vary naturally between pieces. At approximately 8cm across, it adds plenty of character without needing much room.

Between burns, the climber and rugged mountain keep the piece looking like a small ceramic scene rather than an empty incense burner.
