Warm rust-brown leaves spread across a porcelain surface that feels softer and more tactile than it first appears.

The pattern is painted by hand in sabi, an iron-based pigment that develops its earthy brown colour during firing. The brush does not leave every leaf identical: some areas are deeper, others softer, giving the design a natural variation that suits the young-leaf motif.

The porcelain itself adds another layer of character. Its matt glaze allows small iron specks, subtle glaze movement and slight changes in texture to remain visible, rather than smoothing everything into one uniform surface.

Because the cup has no handle, that finish is something you experience directly. Your fingers sit against the textured porcelain as you drink, making the material part of the appeal rather than only the decoration.
