FIORE's wakaba young leaves is painted in sabi, an iron-oxide based pigment that fires to a warm, earthy rust-brown. Where the flower vine design (in gosu blue) from the same collection leans cool and classical, this young leaves speak of woodland floors, late-afternoon light, and the quiet of the natural world.

As with all FIORE pieces, this cup is painted by hand in Arita before glazing the slight tonal variation between individual cups, and the way the pigment settles differently in the brushstrokes, is part of what makes each one its own object. The rounded yunomi form (no handle, palm-warming when held) holds approximately 200 to 250ml.

This cup pairs with the wakaba teapot for a complete tea set. It also works well as a vessel for warm drinks, cold tea, or simply as an object worth having on a kitchen shelf.
