CAFÉ POTTERY moves away from Kihara's usual porcelain into a denser Hasami earthenware, hand-painted in a loose, gestural style. The yū-mura glaze pooling that darkens unevenly across the surface is part of the character, not a flaw, closer to a well-loved kitchen shelf than a display cabinet.
